The future of fashion is sustainable.

As lovers of the ocean, mountains, lakes, rivers and all things nature, we understand the importance of protecting where we play.

That is why Saturday Swimwear aims to be less a part of the problem and more a part of the solution. We vow to put sustainability at the forefront of everything we do.

Our Efforts

We pride ourselves in radical transparency and aim to tell our brand story as honestly as possible. Learn more about Our Ethos.

Fabric

Our suits are handmade using 78% ECONYL® Regenerated Nylon and 22% Elastane. The process starts by rescuing waste such as fishing nets, used carpets and fabric scraps from landfills and oceans around the world. The material is then put through a regeneration and purification process to restore it back to its natural state where it is then processed into yarn and woven with elastane to give it that familiar swimsuit stretch.

This unique fabric not only has increased shape retention and higher durability than virgin swimsuit fabric, it is also two times more resistant to chlorine and has a UV protection of 50.

Hang Tags

Our hang tags are made using 100% recycled PCW material. They are printed using soy based inks and are carbon offsetting.

Using this high-quality, recycled paper uses about 75% less water in production than its virgin-fiber counterpart. It also diverts paper from being thrown into landfills where it decomposes and ultimately emits methane gas, which traps up to 25 times more heat than carbon dioxide.

Packaging

We use 100% recycled (97% PCW), biodegradable, recyclable paper mailers.

Paper mailers are curbside recyclable and easily recycled once they reach the recycling facility. They are marine biodegradable and compostable (meaning no micro-plastics in our oceans!).

Hygiene Liners

Your safety and the protection of the environment are our top priorities. We are pleased that we have to make no sacrifices when it comes to our hygiene liners. Our FSC certified bio-based panty liners are made in the USA and are compostable.

Ethical Manufacturing

Our swimsuits are thoughtfully cut and sewn in small batches at a woman-owned sew studio in the Pacific Northwest.

Our factory prioritizes safe working conditions for their employees and sustainable manufacturing practices to ensure that little waste is being created and the waste that is inevitably produced, is up cycled and recycled as much as possible.

Giving Back

We are proud to be a 1% for the Planet Member and increase our impact by giving back to organizations that put the planet first.
